Animal-born peoples descended from countless ancestral lineages, Beastials are among the most widespread peoples of the Verdigris Isles. Their forms reflect the creatures from which their ancestors descended, creating an extraordinary diversity of appearances and adaptations.
While all Beastials share humanoid intelligence and physiology, each lineage carries the distinct features of the animals from which their ancestors descended.
Some Beastials possess distinctly animalistic bodies, while others retain an overwhelmingly humanoid appearance with only a few defining traits. Fur, feathers, scales, tails, ears, horns, claws, wings, and other features can all be part of a Beastial's natural appearance.
Beastials are divided into two primary races: Ferans and Kemori.
Feran and Kemori describe broad physical expressions of Beastial ancestry rather than limiting the enormous variety of lineages found throughout the Isles.
Ferans possess a more animalistic appearance, often retaining digitigrade legs, muzzles, tails, extensive fur or scales, and other pronounced animal features.
They retain more of their ancestral bloodline, accounting for their more pronounced physical characteristics.
Some Ferans may also display unique Aether manifestations associated with their lineage.
Kemori retain a predominantly humanoid form while displaying the defining traits of their lineage through ears, tails, wings, horns, plumage, scales, or other characteristics.
Their animal heritage may be immediately recognizable or expressed through subtler physical traits.

Wolves, foxes, dogs, coyotes, and other canine lineages may display heightened senses, ears, tails, fur, claws, or other canine traits.
Felines may possess expressive ears, tails, patterned coats, retractable claws, keen eyesight, and other predatory adaptations.
Deer and related lineages are often associated with antlers, sensitive hearing, keen senses, and strong relationships with forests and wild places.
Reptilian Beastials may display scales, tails, claws, slit pupils, horns, fins, or other traits associated with their ancestry.
Amphibian lineages may possess webbing, specialized skin, unusual coloration, powerful jumping ability, or other adaptations.

Most Beastials mature at roughly the same rate as humans and typically live between 110 and 130 years, though some lineages may naturally live slightly longer or shorter depending on their ancestry.
Despite their physical diversity, all Beastials are warm-blooded humanoids capable of living comfortably alongside the other peoples of the Verdigris Isles.
